Five Element Dining

Each of the Five Elements shares a complex relationship with the seasons and tastes—among other factors. When our culinary team collaborates on seasonal menus, they are guided by the Five Elements, intertwined with their correlated tastes, as well as the guiding principle that food is medicine to help deliver cuisine that enhances health and strengthens bodies.

 

With the dawning of Spring, look for pleasingly sour flavors—such as citrus—to infuse our dishes. At the onset of Summer, our menus feature mildly bitter tastes—think: asparagus and endive. As the season transitions into Late Summer, we will indulge you with sweet flavors which can include mango or coconut.

With the arrival of Autumn, you will feast on spicy foods in our restaurants infused with ginger or chili peppers. In the Winter months, we will treat your palate to salty flavors—including pork and shellfish.
