Coton & Rye represents the name of the farm that lived on our land in the late 1700’s and has a long history in Loudoun County. The farm flourished at harvesting rye due to its placement on the Potomac River. Coton & Rye is a nod to our land and the history of food in Virginia. Executive Chef Marcus Repp partners with local farms in Loudoun County to create delectable recipes that are native to the Old Dominion. This is a tavernalso features Virginia beer & wine, and a crafted beverage program.

PRIVATE BARREL WHISKY BY CATOCTIN CREEK
The birthplace of American Whiskey was Virginia. Lansdowne Resort and Spa and Catoctin Creek Distilling are excited to release a private label rye whiskey for the resort’s quintessential tavern and Virginia Whiskey Bar, Coton & Rye. This is the first legal batch of Virginia whiskey made from grain grown in Loudoun County since Prohibition.
As a part of Lansdowne Resort and Spa’s overall celebration of the land, Coton farm and Virginia lifestyle, the team is working closely with local farmers, artisans, vintners and distillers to offer guests the opportunity to connect with the community in simple but meaningful ways while at the resort.
To make this connection to the local community deeper, the resort has selected a local batch of rye to produce their own private label rye whiskey. The rye was grown at Morven Park through the historic estate’s farming co-op program. Trent Teebe, Proprietor of Three Monkeys Farm farmed the rye and provided it to Catoctin Creek, which became Barrel 609.
