Looking to gain insightful, meaningful experience within the hospitality industry? Look no further! Lansdowne Resort and Spa is excited to announce hospitality internships for the summer of 2020! Lansdowne Resort and Spa is a unique, independent resort that is the ultimate sanctuary of sophistication and renewal. As a AAA Four Diamond resort with award winning amenities and as an independent resort, Lansdowne Resort and Spa is an ideal location to further your career. We offer the opportunity for voices to be heard, new ideas to be executed, and the freedom for creativity. Lansdowne Resort and Spa is unlike any other resort in the world.
Our leaders at Lansdowne are always engaging their employees. Their goal is to challenge, encouraging employees to take steps above and beyond to further their growth. “We want our interns to grow with Lansdowne”, said Naz Toumadj (Assistant Director of Human Resources), “We want to build them up and prepare them for their careers, but we also hope our interns will come back to us to grow with us further.”
What makes the internship opportunities so unique is the vast amount of one-on-one time that Lansdowne’s interns receive with their direct supervisors/managers, and even the Directors of the resort. “Our interns acquire more quality time with their managers, to ask questions and receive feedback on their performance. We want our interns to be able to know what it’s like to be a manager in a resort, or be a manager in a restaurant. We want our interns to be able to climb to the top in their field by the knowledge gained from this internship”, said Naz.
Lansdowne Resort and Spa is offering two paid internship programs for the Summer of 2020: Food & Beverage and Front of House.
The Front of House internship program offers unique learning experience through in-depth knowledge and experience on the intricacies of running a resort. Interns will be able to put their hospitality knowledge to practical use as they assist in this department. They will also gain insight and learn how their role fits into the greater vision of Lansdowne Resort and Spa. Selected interns will spend their program shadowing Front Office managers and supervisors, attend operational meetings, weekly Banquet Event Order meetings, and learn the ins and outs of the Front Office operation.
The Food & Beverage internship program offers unique learning experience through in-depth knowledge and experience on the intricacies of running a resort on the Food & Beverage side. Interns will be able to put their hospitality knowledge to practical use as they assist in Lansdowne’s restaurant outlets. Interns will gain insight and learn how their role fits into the greater vision of Lansdowne Resort and Spa. Interns will be exposed to our three indoor outlets (Coton & Rye, Riverside Hearth, and Piedmont’s Table) and one outdoor outlet (Poolside Café) within the roles of Server, Bartender (21+), Food Runner, and Host/ess to educate on how to run a restaurant on the management side. The intern will shadow Food and Beverage managers and supervisors, attend operational meetings, and delve deeply into the world of Food and Beverage.
