New Crooked Billet Menu Debuts at Northern Virginia Restaurant

Modern American cuisine is the theme composing the new and expanded menu at the Crooked Billet restaurant at Lansdowne Resort in Leesburg, Virginia. According to executive chef Robert Bradley, the driving concept for the new menu selections was to utilize as many locally-produced items as possible, from the meats, cheeses and greens, to the wines from Loudoun County vineyards located in the increasingly popular DC Wine Country.

"Our goal is to work in tandem with local farms, dairymen, artisan cheese makers and wineries," said Bradley. "We want to create a memorable dining experience that melds the unique offerings found in the Piedmont region of Virginia and the Tidewater region of the Chesapeake Bay."

The new menu demonstrates a cornucopia of choices and flavors that are as imaginative as they are numerous. For starters, choose from a vast array of cheeses from the butcher's block, as well as, shareable spreads, relishes and preserves like the Kennett Square mushroom hash, or the local flavor of house-smoked bacon and parsnip.

Or, try flatbreads made with Virginia ham, or Blue Ridge Dairy ricotta. How about a local chicken pot pie, or one created from a fricassee of regional game? There are also traditional favorites like lobster mac n' cheese, a wide variety of seafood options including the popular Maryland rockfish, a mouth-watering filet, ribeye, and colorful, healthy salads. For uniqueness, the surprisingly delicious waffle sandwich is an early favorite!

For dessert, the Virginia harvest carrot cake is made from braised local carrots and a featured menu item as part of Destination Hotels & Resorts "Study of Braising" culinary series. But a must try is the resort's version of the latest dessert craze, the cronut. The doughnish is pastry chef Lindsay Cromartie's unique marriage between a crossaint and a donut - truly melt in your mouth goodness.

Overall, the new Crooked Billet menu is guided by principles of sustainability and is proud to support the following local farms and dairies: oak Spring Dairy; crown Orchards; Firefly Farms; Godfrey's farm; Westmoreland Farms; Bear Mountain Orchards; Lois Produce; Parker Farms; Georges Mills Farms; Mountain View Farms; Arnolds Farm; and The Local Food Hub.

The new menu at this Leesburg, Virginia restaurant is available to resort guests and club members from The Golf Club at Lansdowne. For a complete look at the menu, click here.
