Celebrate March From Loudoun County to the Nation's Capital
Happy March 1! We are finally able to turn the calendar and look towards spring in Northern Virginia. Looking for some great events this weekend? From Lansdowne’s backyard, Loudoun County to our nation’s capital, just 40 minutes away, there’s something for everyone this weekend in Northern Virginia and beyond!
Celebrate Leesburg’s First Friday
Held the first Friday of every month, experience all that historic downtown Leesburg has to offer. Over 35 specialty shops, art galleries, antique shops and restaurants are open until 9pm or later, many offering free refreshments and/or special sales. Enjoy live music throughout the evening, art exhibits, wine tastings, a comedy show and even a yoga happy hour! Leesburg's First Friday is a program of the Loudoun Arts Council.
Get Pumped at the Corcoran Gallery of Art
Located in downtown DC, the Corcoran Gallery is paying homage to some of the music that help shaped Washington, DC in the 80’s with their Pump Me Up: D.C. Subculture of the 1980s exhibit. This is the first exhibition to explore the thriving underground of Washington, D.C., during the 1980s, giving visual form to the raucous energy of graffiti, Go-Go music, and a world-renowned punk and hardcore scene.
Located near Lansdowne Resort, the National Air and Space Museum is a great place to spend a weekend afternoon with the family. On Saturday from noon – 3:00pm, check out their Observe the Skies program to take a close-up look at our nearest star, the Sun. Learn about solar activity and its effects on Earth from knowledgeable staff and volunteers. Admission is free but dependent on the weather.
We hope you have a great weekend!
