Here are the highlights of programs and practices that create a "green hotel" experience for you at Lansdowne Resort:
- Utilizing towel and linen reuse programs, based on our guests' preferences.
- Using energy-saving CF light bulbs.
- For turndown service, turning on only two lamps vs. all of the lamps and the television.
- Providing recycling containers in vending areas on each floor.
- Using earth-friendly housekeeping products, including bio-friendly degreasers, low VOC and no-phosphate bathroom, floor and glass cleaning products.
- In unoccupied guest rooms, setting thermostats to 68 degrees in the fall/winter and 72 degrees in the spring/summer.
- Currently replacing plumbing fixtures, as needed, with alternatives that save water.
- Using bulk dispensers for shampoo, soap, etc. in the fitness center, spa and locker rooms, as well as in guest rooms.
- Purchasing local and environmentally safe foods and by-products for all five dining outlets.
- Growing our own herbs and providing our own bee hive to produce honey.
- Composting and recycling on an ongoing basis. Using recyclable containers for "takeout" meals.
