'Spa Minérale' to Open in February as One Highlight of $55 Million Dollar Expansion; Resort Names Judy Stell Spa Director


Lansdowne, VA -- September 28, 2005 -- Lansdowne Resort officially broke ground today on Spa Miné rale (pronounced Min-er-al), a 12,000 square foot full-service spa and one of the final additions of the resorts $55 million renovation and expansion campaign. The Spa is scheduled to open February 1, 2006 as one of the largest luxury spas in the Mid-Atlantic. “Spa Minérale is a great addition,” said Gerard Dumont, Vice President and General Manager of Lansdowne Resort. “When combined with all of our other enhancements, Lansdowne has become a true destination resort, offering luxury amenities on par with the finest resorts in the country.”Spa Minérale will feature a spa shop with an array of signature products and “home spa” delights; a complete image center/salon for men and women; 13 spacious treatment rooms with specialty lighting and music, three private, comfortable relaxation lounges with refreshment areas for men, women and, inviting locker rooms complete with whirlpools, saunas, steam rooms, all grooming amenities and refreshment areas. The layout also features an intimate, private Spa Suite with it’s own lounge and up to 4 treatment rooms for guests to enjoy their spa experience or celebration in seclusion with friends, family or that special someone. Guests will be able to select from a variety of specialized treatments for all types of massages; cleansing exfoliations; hydrating and de-toxifying body masks; hydrotherapy air-jet bath, Vichy and multi-head shower experiences; basic and advanced skin care facials; and depilatory waxing. The Image Center will offer manicures, pedicures, hand and foot treatments, cuts and styles for both men and women and make-up application and demonstration. Full and half day packages will be offered and are designed for complete customization.

The signature Spa Minérale products are inspired by Virginia’s mineral rich environment and indigenous botanicals. The nearby Goose Creak Rock Quarry has been harvested to produce many of the salts, scrubs and muds, while Virginia’s official tree and flower, the Dogwood, has long been utilized as an astringent and for its ability to stimulate collagen and improve clarity and skin tone.
